PRINCIPLES TO SAFEGAURD CHILDREN FROM HARM:
Risk Assessment
We have carried out an assessment of any potential for harm to a child while availing of our services. Below is a list of the areas of risk identified and the list of procedures for managing these risks.

1 | Work carried out in a one to one scenario - open risk of physical or emotional abuse by SCP Personnel/facilitators engaged by SCP. | Child Protection Policy. All staff are Garda vetted. All facilities used have appropriate safeguards for child protection. Correct consent procedures are followed. |
2 | Physical Violence amongst group members. | Follow the venue/school procedure for removal of other group members or individual. |
3 | Working in isolation with a child/ child, open risk of physical emotional abuse. | Child protection policy. All staff grada vetted. Members will only work where other adults are present in the venue. |
4 | Non-Compliance with relevant Child protection Guidelines. | In – time and up to date training on policy and guidelines. All staff will carry out the TUSLA on line Child protection training along with SCP in service training as provided. |
5 | In adequate supervision of children in transport or of site settings – open risk to physical or emotional threats. | Appropriate staff to student ratio as set out in respect to relevant school policies and procedures. |

• Implementation
We recognise that implementation is an on-going process. Our service is committed to the implementation of this Child Safeguarding Statement and the procedures that support our intention to keep children safe from harm while availing of our service.

This policy was adopted by the Management Committee of Wexford School Completion Programme on 18th May 2017.
This Child Safeguarding Statement will be reviewed on 3rd December 2019
or as soon as practicable after there has been a material change in any matter to which the statement refers.
